Cover art for Alexander, post 1

I’m excited to start work on the cover art for Alexander’s book. I’ve chosen to use a graphic artist I’ve known on-line for a couple of years through another acquaintance.

I want my cover to help bring two things to the reader’s mind. First, it should place a visual image of my primary character, Alexander, front and center of the readers mind. It should give him initial form and substance. Second, I would like it to suggest clues to his persona as well as some of his story through more traditional visualization of setting.

DH sketch 1

I would love to hear the descriptive words this rough initial sketch inspires.
