Thoughts on the season…

Merry Christmas?

Jesus said, You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me…NOT, why should you have to give away your hard earned money; make sure you never have to give a nickel to anyone that, in your opinion, could somehow earn that nickel for themselves.

Did he also say, …Woman, you are freed from your disability…NOT, if you worked, you could afford health insurance like the rest of us hard working, honest Americans.

Seems to me he might have said, Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed…NOT, if in your judgement a person can work but CHOOSES not to then you may let them starve and their children be sick and uneducated.

Maybe he said, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me…NOT, give only to those that make you feel comfortable and you will be rewarded.

And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
